Tattooed woman. I always dreamed of beautiful tattooed body. I took first pic after my son was born. But after that just vision in head.
Can you believe me if I told you that my guru, spiritual master, is actually a tattoo artist too? No I don’t think so. But he is. He learned by himself doing tattoos when he visited in Finland and observed one tattoo artist doing her work. And the rest is history. ‘
Officially I became his brand ambassador quite quickly when my guru noticed my passion and enthusiasm for tattoos. I let him color my peacock feather tattoo and after that there is always new tattoo coming when we meet. But now I tell a story about my left arm tattoo. It is so beautiful and astonishing that even on gym people come to comment how beautiful it is.
Shiva and Ganesha, the father and the son
In my left arm I have a tattoo where is Ganesha (the elephant God), his father Shiva (Mahadev) and full moon.
But why I have the picture?
Ganesha is one of the most famous hindu avatars. He is highly recognisable with his elephant head and human body, representing the soul (atman) and the physical (maya). Also the patron of writers, travellers, students, and commerce, the remover of all obstacles blocking new projects and is fond of sweets, to the slight detriment of his figure.
Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He was created by his mother Parvati using earth which she moulded into the shape of a boy. As Shiva was away on his meditative wanderings, Parvati set her new son as a guard while she was bathing. So, when Ganesha denied Lord Shiva entry into his abode–because Goddess Parvati was bathing inside–Shiva decapitated Ganesha’s head in anger. According to legend, an elephant was the first animal that Lord Brahma later found when he went out to look for one (to replace Ganesha’s head). Shiva called for his gang of demons, the bhutaganas, who fought ferociously with the boy. They or Shiva himself cut Off his head.
The full moon in tattoo is also coming from the legend between Ganesha and the fight with Moon.
I found one version of the story from Templepurohit -website and it is here:
Ganesha loved sweets a lot. So his devotees always offered him sweets which made him happy. One day a devotee gave him lots of sweets. Ganesha was so happy he sat and ate till his stomach was full. Then he got up, gathered the remaining sweets and started slowly towards home on his vehicle- a tiny mouse. The mouse couldn’t bear his weight and it tripped which led to Ganesha falling off and the sweets scattering everywhere. Ganesha was embarrassed and he quickly got up and gathered all the sweets, looking around to see if anyone had seen him fall. The moon, in the sky who saw all this, started laughing as he found it really funny. He was proud about his own handsome feature and had always found Ganesha’s pot belly very funny. Seeing him laugh filled Ganesha with anger. He called the moon vain and cursed him that anyone who looks at the moon on Chaturthi will be wrongly blamed. The moon realized his mistake and begged Ganesha to remove the curse. Seeing this Ganesha softened and forgave the moon. He told the moon that he couldn’t remove the curse but he would reduce its impact. Anyone who looked at the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi could redeem themselves by looking at the moon on the second day of fortnight and listening to stories of Krishna or Syamantaka gem.
So everything in my bodily Art has a deeper meaning. This tattoo was chosen with my guru, spiritual Master and tattoo artist himself 🙏❤️
